Ileitis, caused by L. intracellularis, is readily controlled by Denagard as confirmed by in vitro and in vivo investigations [?], [?], [?], [?], [?], [?], [?], [?].
Denagard is favoured by many pig experts world-wide against swine dysentery because it provides potent activity in vitro and in vivo against the main causative organism, B. hyodysenteriae, including strains resistant to other antibiotics.
Also, when linked with rigorous management and disinfection procedures, it is particularly suitable as a component of B. hyodysenteriae eradication programmes.
Colitis (PCS), caused by B. pilosicoli, is also highly responsive to Denagard [?], [?], [?], [?].
